Bridging the Gap with Technology

Smart Rural Schools is a flagship initiative by The Art of Living’s Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP) to transform under-resourced government schools in rural India into dynamic, tech-integrated, and value-based learning spaces. With a three-fold focus on infrastructure, digital tools, and teacher empowerment, the program aims to bridge the rural-urban education divide and create inclusive, future-ready classrooms across India.

Key Objective

Holistic Infrastructure Upgrade: Modern classrooms, clean toilets, RO drinking water, science labs, and educational murals improve student retention and parental involvement.
Digital Empowerment: Equipped with smart classrooms, STEM kits, and computer labs, students learn coding, internet usage, and digital skills early on.
Teacher Capacity Building: Regular workshops on pedagogy, child psychology, and tech-integration improve teaching quality and student engagement.
Well-being & Character Development: Students receive yoga, meditation, and life skills training to build emotional resilience, leadership, and self-awareness.
Reach in Remote Areas: Even in inaccessible terrains like Leh and forest-covered borders, SSRDP has built solar-powered smart schools — proving no child is too far to reach.
Environmental Impact: The program contributes to sustainability by saving ~300 tonnes of CO₂ per year, thanks to energy-efficient upgrades and solar integration.
